In the case of a „block fee“ contract, the shipowner will agree with us on the possible inclusion or exclusion of non-programmable interventions. Certain issues may be excluded from the block royalty program by the Director General depending on the individual circumstances of the case. Mental health blocking can only be charged to the account for the final liquidation of block fees. The Block Royalty Program is a key provision of the January 2010 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed by the Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG), the Criminal Lawyers` Association (CLA) and Legal Aid Ontario. Dockets and written confirmation from the Crown are required for block fee accounts where an articling student has participated in a negotiated resignation or stay decision.
